Gio Mielle is a Brazilian actress, theatre producer and a journalist. She has been acting since 1999 and has a degree in theatre from the Brasilia University, place where she also acted and worked as a producer for Cometa Cenas Festival. In 2003 Giovanna won an award for best actress for a short scene called "The Cannibal" which set her off to hold many other roles in various productions around Brazil. She worked as an actress for big projects at Galpão Cine Horto: "Arriscamundo", "Sonho de uma Noite de São João" and "Ensaio de Mentiras". Since moving to New York, Gio has worked as an assistant producer for groups such as Sister Sylvester, Elevator Repair Service, and La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. She was part of the cast for "Sorry Robot", a Mike Iveson's project for Elevator Repair Service. She performed at the Nettles Artists Collective's show "The Dark Side of the Woods" and at the Sister Sylvester's "The Maids' The Maids". She was also a swing actress at the critic choice immersive theatre "Doomocracy", which gave her a nomination to the International Brazilian Press Award 2017. In August 2017, performed Ulysses - Episode 10, in a partnership between Nettles Artists Collective and Montez Press Magazine at Mathew Gallery in NYC. She participated as a performer of “Clarice’s Hour”, in honor of brazilian writer, Clarice Lispector, in December of 2017, and now prepares herself to perform in the new Group.BR’s show, “Inside The Wild Heart”, in October of 2018, also about Lispector’s work and life. Gio Mielle premiered her solo performance Bother Line produced by the Nettles Artists Collective at Punto Space, in November of 2017 and did a second run at The Tank, in March of 2018.
